Solange Ingabire is a refugee advocate, visionary leader, and changemaker committed to transforming opportunities for displaced youth across East Africa and beyond.
As co-founder and External Relations Officer of Refugee Youth Changemakers (RYCM), Solange works to ensure that refugee youth are not simply included in conversations about their futures—but are actively shaping them.
Raised within Rwanda’s refugee settlement system, Solange understands firsthand the challenges that displaced youth face. Her lived experience informs her advocacy and strengthens her commitment to building pathways for refugee youth to access education, leadership opportunities, and meaningful participation in decision-making spaces.
Over the past several years, Solange has worked across nonprofit organizations, refugee-led initiatives, and private sector collaborations, helping design and implement programs that have empowered thousands of refugee youth through education access, digital skills development, and youth leadership initiatives.
Her advocacy focuses on removing systemic barriers that limit refugee participation in policy and development spaces. Whether facilitating workshops for girls in secondary schools, advising policy discussions, or speaking at international forums, Solange consistently works to ensure refugee youth voices are heard and respected.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and Kinyarwanda, she serves as a bridge between cultures, institutions, and communities. Her ability to connect grassroots realities with global platforms has made her a respected voice in refugee advocacy spaces.
At Refugee Youth Changemakers, Solange leads external relations and partnership development, building strategic collaborations that expand opportunities for displaced youth.
Her leadership continues to drive the organization’s mission of equipping young refugees with the tools, platforms, and networks needed to lead change in their communities.
